MEET ENTRY PROCEDURES

CHESAPEAKE BAY AQUATIC CLUB

Most swim clubs charge between $4.00 and $5.00 per event per swimmer for their swim meets. When our coach mails the entries to the host club, a CBAC check for the full amount has to accompany those entries. This check is drawn on the CBAC's Escrow bank account which is funded by the members. Therefore, members wishing to regularly participate in swim meets not hosted by CBAC (away meets) must establish a meet escrow account with our Club in order to cover these entry fees.

The escrow account should be established with a deposit of $50.00 (check made payable to CBAC and put in the "Meet Entries" Folder). Members will be notified when their account falls below $20.00 so that it can be replenished before the next swim meet. Should an individual swimmer's account fall to more than $100 in arrears, that swimmer may be barred from participating in meets until the situation is rectified.

Please put meet fees, escrow money, CBAC mail, etc. in the MARY Ann Hickey folder. She handles all escrow accounts. The file box will be at the pool during each practice. Please write on your checks what the money is for (meet fees, dues, etc). The fees may also be mailed to Mary Ann Hickey 301-373-5938, for processing.

The meet sign-up sheets will be posted about four weeks prior to the meet - please note the sign-up deadline on the sheet.

The Meet Notice will generally be posted, but can also be found at http://www.mdswim.org/Schedule_2005_2006.htm.

Please note on the sign-up sheet which day(s) your swimmer can attend if you can't do the whole meet.

** Meet Sign-ups: Please remember to check sign-up lists to verify that your swimmer is signed up correctly. Because this is a manual process, names are not instantly posted on the lists.

Some meets have time standards. The coaches will know if your swimmer meets the qualifications. See 2005-2008 Time Standards (pdf).

The coaching staff will pick the events for your swimmer, and a list of events (and the amount being charged against your escrow account) will be put in your mail box prior to the meet.

Any member who wishes to attend the meet after entries have been submitted might be able to by deck seeding. Please speak to the coach.

Once entries have been submitted to the host team, any member who has signed up and subsequently cannot attend will be liable for those meet fees.
