Winter
Wake-up (Odd Age Group) Home Swim Meet:
CBAC ‘s 2nd Home Swim Meet will take place next weekend, January 23rd,
24th, and 25th at the new Great Mills Pool. It looks like many CBAC swimmers
have signed up for this fun event – don’t miss out on a chance
to swim for and cheer on the Home Team! We are still looking for Parent
Volunteers in all sessions – timers in particular. Please
go to the team Website to sign up for a job. We need your support to make
this meet successful.
Spring

Registration for the next session will take place during the week of February
2-6th and fees are due at that time. The dates for this 20-week session

$418, Senior $461.). Swimmers who are not registered will not be allowed

Please email or call

have any questions about registration.

will be done February 2nd through 6th at the Spring Cove Pool by appointment
only.
Fundraising
for the Olympic Fund and Team Travel & Uniforms:
CBAC now has a fundraising package to solicit donations from local businesses
and professionals. This package contains a letter describing CBAC, a list
of swimmer accomplishments, and partnership information to be handed out
to anyone who might be interested in becoming a CBAC sponsor.
Thanks are in order to Bob Buckley who spearheaded this project and everyone else who helped to make it happen. You can pick up the fundraising packages for distribution from Bob or Coach Chuck. Please help CBAC raise money for future team trips, uniforms, and the Olympic fund by participating in this project.
CBAC Parkas:
2004 promises to be a very exciting year for CBAC with many team functions
in store as well as the opening of our new HOME POOL at St. Mary’s
College. After a long, 2-year wait, the projected opening date is fall of
2004.
Coach Chuck has placed an order for 60 parkas for our swimmers. This will help promote team spirit and team unity among our swimmers in these exciting times to come. These high-quality, custom team parkas should be available for purchase soon. The price of each parka will be about $120. To help defer the cost of the parkas for our swimmers, Coach Chuck has initiated a fundraiser.
ESPN has agreed to sponsor CBAC in the amount of $30 dollars for each 2-year subscription to ESPN Magazine sold. The cost of the subscription is $40, which means that there is a 75% return to CBAC per subscription. Example: If you sell 2 subscriptions for a total of $80 dollars, then $60 will be put towards your team parka. If you sell more than 4 subscriptions, the extra money will go towards your swim fees for next session. This is a great way to earn money towards the parkas and swimming registration fees. All swimmers are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.
Jr.
All Star Swim Meet:
CBAC’s next home swim meet, the Maryland Junior All Star Championship,
will take place March 12th, 13th and 14th at the Arundel Olympic Swim Center
in Annapolis. All swimmers with times slower than the Maryland Championship
Qualifying times can participate (go to www.Mdswim.org for the time standards).
Watch the team Website for swimmer and parent volunteer sign-ups.
Swimmer Baby Pictures:
We are still waiting for Baby Pictures of our swimmers. Coach Chuck would
really like to have his picture replaced on the Website. Email your pictures
to the Website administrator, Linda
Davis.
The Birthday
Club:
Each month we will be celebrating team birthdays with a birthday swim and
a cake at a Saturday practice. The dates will be announced in advance. January
birthdays will be celebrated this Saturday, the 17th. Hope to see you there!
