Winter Wake-up (Odd Age Group) Home Swim Meet:
CBAC and TAC will be co-hosting our 2nd Home Swim Meet this weekend (Jan. 24th-26th) at Towson University. It looks like many CBAC swimmers have signed up for this fun event – don’t miss out on a chance to swim for and cheer on the Home Team! We are still looking for Parent Volunteers in all areas and all sessions. Please go to the team Website, www.cbacswimming.org, to sign up for a job. We are short of help during the Friday night session. If your child is swimming this meet, please volunteer to work.

Fundraiser:
Many thanks to the families who participated in the CBAC Fundraiser! Look for your ads and personals in the Meet Program this weekend. For anyone who didn’t have time to sell an Ad for this meet program, the fundraiser will be continued into February. Please turn in your Ads by February 20th for the Jr. All Star Meet taking place Feb.28th- March 2nd. (Contact Cathy Doering with questions or pick up an info-packet at Spring Cove Marina.)

Registration:
The new session will begin on Monday, January 27th. The times and locations of practices will remain the same for all levels at this time. Please register in the Lounge at Spring Cove Marina during the week of the 27th. This will be another 20-week session and the fees will remain the same. If you have any questions, contact Vicki Lydon.

New Parent Meeting:
There will be a meeting for families new to CBAC or new to Age-Group Competitive Swimming on Thursday, February 13th. We will be discussing topics such as Meet Sign-up procedures & Schedule, Travel, Communication, Time Standards & the Progression to Zones, as well as tips to becoming an effective swim parent. Please join us for an informative session about CBAC Swimming and bring all your questions! All families are welcome. Watch the Website for the time and location of this event and feel free to contact Liz Richards if you have any questions.

Special Message from CBAC Board President Trevor Richards:
Great Mills Pool Project is back on track! Thanks to all of the parents who took the time to write to the County Commissioners and/or the newspaper. Public opinion really does matter, and our elected officials, to their credit, listened! High School swimming will surely follow, but we might again be called upon to voice our opinions when the time comes. It is important that your child be given the option of choosing swimming as a High School sport in St Mary’s County.

Volunteer Board of Directors:
The CBAC Board of Directors is made up of Parent Volunteers, all of whom have full-time jobs outside of the club. Please make their lives easier by meeting your financial obligations to the team in a timely fashion. Feel free to attend and participate in the monthly board meetings – the next one is scheduled for Feb. 18th at 5:45 p.m. at Spring Cove Marina. The team can benefit from your valuable input and help. We are presently looking for volunteers to organize parties for the swimmers during the next session. Also, be sure to check the Website to see where help is needed in the upcoming Home Meet. Thanks to all of the Parents who volunteer to make this team a success. The Coaches and Swimmers couldn’t do it without you!
