ELIGIBILITY: |
This meet is open to all USA, USA Masters & USA Tri-Athlete Registered Swimmers. Each contestant must hold a valid registration. Contestant age as of June 19, 2005 will determine the age group for which they are eligible. Note: 1-day USA registration may be purchased at the event. |

| TIMING: | The finish line will be on shore at the end of the chute. The "official time" will be the time recorded by the event timers at the finish line. More detailed finish instructions will be given at the pre-race Briefing. |

RULES: |
The 2005 USA Swimming Rules and any relevant sanctions of the Maryland Swimming Rules will apply. |
|
|
WET SUITS: |
Not allowed. |
|
|
CONDITIONS: |
Tidal River. Conditions tend be calm. Windy conditions might produce a light chop. Minimal tidal current may be experienced. |
|
|
LIABILITY: |
The meet will be run in accordance to all Maryland Swimming & USA Swimming guidelines concerning open water swimming. All CBAC Members, volunteers & officials running the meet will be released of any liabilities, accidents or injuries of any kind that may occur during the competition. Meet director reserves the right to limit entries. |
|
|
EMERGENCIES: |
A swimmer experiencing difficulty and in need of assistance shall raise an arm overhead, and pump it up and down, and call or seek assistance. A swimmer, who has received official assistance, whether voluntary or involuntary, must retire and withdraw from the remainder of the race unless such assistance did not aid the swimmer making forward progress. No swimmer shall return to the race if the official rendering assistance requests that the participant withdraw from the race or receive medical assistance. |

QUALIFYING TIMES: |
There are no qualifying times. |

ENTRY |
All entries must be submitted on 3.5 floppy disks or jump drives (preferred) or submitted on the attached swimmer entry form. If information is submitted on the form, it must be complete and printed legibly. Meet entries may be submitted by E-Mail (Team Manager files only). However, all payments must be received prior to the start of the race. Late registration will be available on a first come first serve basis. |

ENTRY DEADLINE: |

ENTRY FEES: |
$30.00 per athlete by deadline $35.00 after June 11, 2005 or day of. Entry fee includes T-shirt, cap, and picnic lunch. T-shirt size must accompany entry. T-shirts can not be guaranteed with late entry day of registration. Checks should be made payable to the Chesapeake Bay Aquatic Club. |

AWARDS: |
Awards will be given for first through eighth place for individual events. Awards to follow the completion of meet. |
|
|
RESULTS: |
Results will be available for downloading from the MD swimming web site at www.mdswim.org 48 hours after the conclusion of the meet and from www.cbacswimming.org. |
|
|
PICNIC: |
There will be a free picnic following the competition for paid race participants. Non-participants will be able to purchase picnic food. | |
|
SWIM APPAREL: |
Swim apparel will be available for sale. | |

DIRECTIONS: |
From the Washington Beltway, take Rt. 5 south to Waldorf. Turn left/south on Rt. 235 / Rt. 5 in Waldorf and stay straight on Rt. 235 to Lexington Park. After reaching Lexington Park, you will pass the main gate at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. Continue past Lexington Park for six (6) miles and make a right onto Mattapany Road. Proceed approximately two (2) miles to Rt. 5 and turn right. St. Mary's waterfront is on the left 1/4 mile. Turn left on Old State House Rd. and park in large parking lot. Look for signs for race start and end points. You may also take Rt. 4 south from the Washington Beltway to Solomons Island. Cross the bridge and proceed to the intersection of Rt. 4 and Rt. 235. Make a left on Rt. 235 south to Lexington Park and follow the highlighted directions to the waterfront. From Baltimore take Rt. 301 south to Rt. 4 in Upper Marlboro. Take Rt. 4 south to Solomons Island and follow the highlighted directions above. From Annapolis take Rt. 2/4 south to the intersection in Sunderland. Turn left/south to Solomons Island and follow the highlighted directions to the waterfront. |
